CaloBuddy is a self-monitoring lifestyle tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic system, or substitute for individualized medical counsel, clinical diagnosis, or nutritional therapy from a licensed healthcare professional.

CaloBuddy provides preliminary guidance and estimates based on user-supplied information, camera photos, barcode scans, and artificial intelligence models.

1. Approximation of Nutrition Metrics

  • Calorie, protein, carbohydrate, and fat estimates are algorithmic approximations. They can vary naturally based on cooking methods, hidden oils, mixed sauces, regional ingredients, and portion density.
  • Users are encouraged to verify and edit detected food items and portion weights directly inside the app, and click Re-estimate for recalibration.

2. No Medical Diagnosis or Treatment

  • We do not diagnose, treat, cure, rehabilitate, or prevent any illness, disease, or medical condition.
  • CaloBuddy is not designed for individuals diagnosed with an active eating disorder (such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder).

3. Consult a Licensed Healthcare Professional

Always consult a licensed physician, clinical nutritionist, or registered dietitian before making significant modifications to your caloric intake, macro distribution, or fasting routine, particularly if you:

  • Have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, hypoglycemia, or metabolic syndrome;
  • Have kidney disease, liver complications, hypertension, or cardiovascular conditions;
  • Are pregnant, trying to conceive, or actively nursing;
  • Are under 18 years of age or an elderly individual;
  • Are taking prescription medications that interact with nutritional intake or hydration levels.

4. Warning Signs and Immediate Action

If you experience adverse symptoms — such as sudden dizziness, fainting, severe fatigue, heart palpitations, chronic weakness, rapid unmonitored weight loss, or persistent extreme hunger — immediately stop using the application and contact a qualified medical professional or local emergency health services.
